Trace fossil, body fossil, or NOT a fossil!

Today Miss Lee showed us a slide show of pictures. We had to look closely and decide whether the picture showed a body fossil, a trace fossil, or not a fossil.

Use the definitions to help you decide, and leave a comment explaining one of your answers!

Body fossils are the preserved remains of the body of an animal or plant.
Trace fossils show that an animal or plant was there, but is not a body fossil.

We watched this animated video in science to help us understand the different types of fossils and how fossils are formed.

Newspaper needed

We will be learning about papier mâché in visual art this term so we will need heaps of newspaper! Please could you collect and bring in old newspapers instead of putting them out for recycling.
